An accessible family-friendly, arts & cultural community space permanently moored in the heart of Ramsgate Royal Harbour, on-board the 133-year old, 50-metre, Dutch barge 'Vriendschap' (Dutch for friendship).
Comprising a multifaceted exhibition, event & performance space, community art studio, cafe & bar and top-deck garden with views over Ramsgate Marina.
The Ramsgate Arts Barge is a 'not-for-profit' project that will provide art classes, workshops & courses (across the arts) for children 2-16 years of age living within the Thanet District.
The project has been supported by artists including; Sir Anish Kapoor CBE, Kate Malone MBE, Patrick Brill OBE, Bruce McLean and over 100+ local artists donating artworks to previous fundraising art auctions.
With full planning application approved in October 2021, Ramsgate Arts Barge Community Interest Company are now working to secure major funding so renovation & conversion works can commence from this Summer 2022.
